The 2018 Yard of the Month season came to an end in September. It was a pleasure to tour the neighborhood from April to September and view the changes in landscapes from month to month. One yard looks average in the spring but will burst into full color in the hot months of the summer. Another yard may be full of the delicate blooms of dogwood and azalea in the spring but have little color in mid to late summer. While we note these changes in our neighbors’ yards, we also enjoy recognition of homeowners who have taken steps to improve their landscape. Well-designed hardscapes, thoughtful plantings or simply fresh sod can be just what’s needed to enhance the architecture of your home and attract the attention of your neighbors and the Yard of the Month judges.
